The Drywall Podcast

The Drywall Podcast was created by entrepreneur Nick Harmony Long time Journeyman Finisher, Owner and developer of Fresco Harmony because there wasn’t a podcast dedicated to the men and women who make the Drywall Industry what it is. From this podcast we’ve enriched relationships, fostered community and documented the history of drywall and beyond.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon at the AWCI Build 25 show this year and I liked him right away.  I've been wanting to get him on the podcast for a while now.  In this episode we talk about how he followed in his father's footsteps and why transitioning to the automatic tools was different than his dad but suited him better.  We talk a little about Fresco Harmony and his biggest take away from the Build 25 show.  Brandon is a great guy and I know you'll feel the same way I do after listening to this, the 145th, episode of The Drywall Podcast.

Dave Darnutzer - Apla-Tech

Friday Sep 05, 2025

Friday Sep 05, 2025

Dave is one of 4 owners of a company called Apla-Tech.  Apla-Tech is unique because it is one of only two companies in the drywall space that offers CFS or Continuous Flow Systems.  What that means is that they make tools that you don't have to pump mud into.  You simple work the tools and keep them fed with an exorbitant amount of mud.  This means ease of use and productivity. Dave has made it his passion and this is what we talk about on the 144th episode of The Drywall Podcast.  You can tell that he's passionate about what he's up to and that emanates from this interview.

Mike Curry - Sunny Drywall

Friday Aug 29, 2025

Friday Aug 29, 2025

Mike and I would have met at a training at the Columbia facility back in the day had it not been for his back injury.  We've stayed in touch on social media and I've been trying to get him on the show for a while now.  We talk about coming up in the trades and working for his father but also how he used to make money bringing soda pop to his father's job sites on his bike.  We talk about Fresco Harmony, the pro form banjo and a lot about some of the new tools on the market.  It was an absolute pleasure catching up with Mike on this episode and I know you're going to love this, the 143rd, episode of The Drywall Podcast.

Friday Aug 15, 2025

On this episode of TDP we welcome Daniel Osborne back to the show for his second appearance.  Daniels firs show was fantastic and still holds a special place in my heart.  His first appearance was all the way back in July of 2022, 3 years ago and we discuss his drive to set the standard and why being impeccable is important to him.  This episode we talk about his involvement with religion, the discipline it takes to learn the piano, and asbestos abatement.  We have a lot of laughs and a lot of fun on this, the 142nd, episode of TDP.
This episode was brought to you by AMES.  This month we're highlighting their Venetian plaster trowels.  You can check out the full line now at tapetech.com, or ask your local TapeTech dealer for more info

Sunil D'Souza Drywall master

Friday Aug 08, 2025

Friday Aug 08, 2025

We had a chance to catch up with Sunil D'Souza of Drywall Master and what a conversation it was.  From marketing to mastery we covered it all.  We talk a bit about the show Breaking Bad which was filmed in Albuquerque but we quickly shifted over to the history of Tape Master (the predecessor) and how that company was built and sold to AMES.  We talk a lot about sales and the resurrection of Drywall Master into the force that it is today. This episode is on the longer side but it's all good content and I'm sure you're going to like this, the 141st episode, of The Drywall Podcast.

Really glad I Brad and I finally got a chance to sit down and talk.  Brad is a 46 year old bad ass from Tauranga New Zealand who's decided to live a full life.  Brad is a second generation finisher or Gib Stopper as they call it in New Zealand.  He's followed in his father's foot steps and made a name for himself on certain social media outlets.  Early on in his career Brad went on an OE experience (common in Australia and New Zealand) where he ventured to London and Ireland to explore the word and discover himself.  We talk about that experience, the tools and a little bit about the Morph sander on this, the 140th, episode of The Drywall Podcast.

Chris is one of those guys you just like instantly.  Not only is he very well spoken, he's just one of the nicest guys I could have asked to be on The Drywall Podcast.  Beyond that, he's probably one of the best finishers we've had on the show.  It's evident in the first few minutes of talking with Chris that he's an extraordinarily good drywall finisher and painter and offers some tips that just might make your next level 5 job a huge success.  I've met Chris in person but now I feel like I can consider him a true friend and I know you're going to like this, the 139th, episode of The Drywall Podcast.

We catch up with Tyler on this episode and start getting honest right away.  We talk about the challenges he faced learning the trade and how it wasn't until he quit his job and googled "how to start a business" that he really began to finish.  This is an episode of what it's like to be hungry for success at a very young age.  Tyler is very straight forward with his answers and his hustle might surprise you on this, the 138th episode of The Drywall Podcast

Carolina Garcia - Tape-Tech

Friday Jul 11, 2025

Friday Jul 11, 2025

Carolina has an amazing story.  Her parents moved to the United States from Columbia when she was in her early 20's and she embraced every bit of that transition.  She focused heavily on work in language translation and found herself working in the medical field.  A position opened up at AMES and the rest is history.  Carolina's work ethic and passion for the company has enabled her to become a very important person with the company and she continues to thrive as the latest and greatest sales manager.  Don't believe me?  Just listen to this episode, the 137th episode of The Drywall Podcast.

Simone Cecchin - Co.Me Tools

Friday Jun 27, 2025

Friday Jun 27, 2025

Meet Simone Cecchin Managing Director of Co.Me Tools.  If you haven't heard of them, they've been around since 1964 and they make some of the best knives I've seen.  A while back one of their sales reps reached out to me and wanted some information on marketing in North America.  It wasn't long before I wanted to get Simone on the show and I'm glad I did.  He's a very well spoken, passionate, and dedicated product manufacturer and we have an amazing conversation and there might be a new romance between Fresco Harmony and Co.Me in the works on this, the 136th, episode of The Drywall Podcast.
