Murry Jordan - Optimum Drywall

In this episode of The Drywall Podcast we get to hear a rookies perspective on learning the tools, his unique entrance into an industry that can sometimes be competitive and a new light idea that has potential.  Murry Jordan is a fantastic guy and family man.  We talk about that and also how he calms down by using the sauna to his advantage.  Murry is very candid about being new but also very confident in his ability to become one of the best in the business.  I enjoyed talking with him and I'm sure you're going to enjoy listening on the 27th episode of The Drywall Podcast.
 

Columbia Tools - Part 2

Mike Rauchut - The Yellow Jacket

If you don't know Mike he's the inventor of The Yellow Jacket mixing stand.  It's the first tool of its kind and it was made buy a guy like you and me.  The Yellow Jacket is a bucket holder that holds the bucket from the top to prevent spin and prevent buckets from falling over.  I've know Mike for a bit and I love his zest for the trades and his passion for his invention.  Mike is also an avid drummer and plays out several times a month.  Mike is an old school union carpenter that's done his share of drywall and that's where The Yellow Jacket comes in.  We have a great time talking shop on this, the 25th podcast on The Drywall Podcast.  

Outwest Drywall Supply - The Interview

Outwest Drywall Supply has an exclusive deal with Fresco Harmony.  They sell our products to the western slope of Colorado and have been for over a year.  Not only have they been a tremendous asset to Fresco Harmony but they've been a pleasure to work with.  Billy handles the Grand Junction yard and Max handles the Glenwood Springs location.  They took time out of their busy schedule to talk with me about how Outwest Drywall Supply got its start.  We also discuss a host of other topics including ice baths, social media, and how they got into the drywall distribution business.  They're the first supply company to be interviewed but certainly not the last.  I'm excited to gig into the nuts and bolts of what makes these drywall specialty shops tick on this, the 24th episode only on The Drywall Podcast.

Columbia Tools Part 1

The Drywall Podcast enables me to attract some great professionals in the trade.  It was an absolute honor to have a conversation with Aaron And Elliot St James of Columbia Tools. We travel back in time to place where drywall finishers were only able to use the automatic tools if they rented them from AMES.  Their dad (and original founder of Columbia tools) wasn't satisfied with that model and set his sights on something better.  From their meager beginnings in the back of Hub City drywall supply to we set forth to find out how Columbia tools came to be.  This conversation is so thick we had to break it into two parts.  This interview is the first two part series ever on TDP.  You'll listen to both on the 23rd and 24th episodes only on The Drywall Podcast.

Balukas and Son Drywall

We're finally getting into interviewing some of the younger generation of drywall experts in the field with specific focus on breaking out on their own.  Matt and I talk about the challenges he's faced with that, getting clean and sober, aspects of pricing and also the possibility of learning how to run the bazooka.  Matt is a fantastic reference for drywall knowledge and I'm sure you'll enjoy this, the 22nd podcast of The Drywall Podcast.

Sculpture Artist

I finally caught up with Jason Griffin to talk to him about drywall sculpture.  Jason is a long time drywall expert who has a knack for creating the unimaginable.  Not only does he create amazing sculptures, but he creates them with drywall mud which has a different temperament than other mediums.  We discuss his original technique in making these creations come to to life. Cock of the Walk

David Lee, of the Facebook group Drywall Magazine, tells all in this exposing interview.  From mental health, to making a rocket shooter out of a bazooka David tells all.  David is a funny guy and so am I so this interview goes off the rales some but we also talk walls, using the spy sponge, and why he started Drywall Magazine to begin with. Josh Martin - The Drywall Ambassador

If you don't follow Josh Martin of Martins Construction Drywall and Painting you may want to.  He's a third generation drywall finisher with an eye for detail.  His company has covered over 70 wood paneling projects, and they also restore hardwood floors.  Josh recently became an ambassador for TapeTech tools and we discuss that.  We're excited for you to get to know Josh a little bit better on this, the 18th podcast on The Drywall Podcast.
