On this episode we pay tribute to a drywall legend.  Kameron Brown known as itsyamankam passed away on Tuesday October 1st after working on a drywall project in Effingham IL.  Kam was a pivotal figure in the drywall space and friends with anyone who had the pleasure of coming into contact with him.  I was lucky enough to be with him on his last day and I feel it's important to tell my story from this perspective.  This is the very first solo podcast by Nick Harmon explaining the profound relationship between Kam and myself, what happened on Oct 1st and what we can do as a drywall community to ensure his legacy lives on.  I miss my friend but his stories and impact is still very much alive in our hearts.  We remember that legacy on this, the 113th episode of The Drywall Podcast.
RIP Kam we love you!!!

Once again we meet up with Jason Marshall after a long hiatus to discuss a little trouble he had with a contractor.  Jason recently finished a project and the contractor decided not to pay him and he had to lean the property.  We talk about the importance of having a sound contract and how creating a procedure document for his clients has helped Jam's Drywall become more successful.  Jason is a great guy and I always enjoy talking with him but this one is fantastic.  I hope you get as much good information out of this episode, Episode 112, as I did.

I finally got a chance to catch up with Steph of Teek Interiors.  If you don't know who Steph Abbott is just head over to her Instagram page @teekinteriors and give her a like.  She's acquired over 50K followers but it wasn't by accident.  Steph has had a unique approach to tackling Instagram and it's paid off for her.  We talk about some strategic approaches to getting more followers and how some little tweaks can really bolster your engagement.  We also discuss her last year of recovery from drugs and alcohol and how that freedom has lead her to some pretty extraordinary opportunities in the drywall community.  We talk about her experience at the Great Rocky Mountain Adventure and getting to rep Richards with PRC and Gilbert taping.  Oh, and we talk a lot about drywall finishing technique.  Episode 111 is awesome and so is Steph and I hope you think so too.

Chris and I go back 10 years to the Drywall Talk days.  Chris happened upon Fresco Harmony and decided to try it out.  Shortly after we met up in Vegas at Intex and had a great time.  He doesn't do the most Fresco Harmony but he's always been a huge supporter and a fantastic finisher.  We catch up in this episode to discuss how he got into the trade, why he still chooses metal corner bead over vinyl, and how his business has diversified into acoustical ceilings and metal framing.  Chris is a great guy and tells a great story on this, the 110th episode of The Drywall Podcast.

Spencer called me out of the blue to discuss some large Fresco Harmony projects that he has on the horizon.  I liked where the conversation was going so I decided to have a zoom call and capture the entire dialogue pertaining to Fresco Harmony.  We discuss sales, color strategy, and application.  In the short time that he was able to be on the phone with me we cover a lot of ground.  If you're curious about selling Fresco Harmony this episode is for you.  You can also catch my entire episode with Spencer back on Episode 107.

Spencer may not be the most influential person on the internet right now but what he lacks in influence he makes up for in heart.  We connected when Spencer reached out a couple weeks ago about some Fresco Harmony questions he had.  I wrangled him onto the podcast because we had such a great conversation.  Spencer is 30 and has been running his own business in Kalispell MT and is looking to diversify with Fresco Harmony.  I've never seen someone who's never done Fresco Harmony so excited about the potential.  Needless to say we talk a lot about Fresco Harmony but we also get into the importance of work life balance.  This episode could very well become a new favorite.

Tom and I hit it off right away.  He's a great interview and we quickly settle into a fantastic conversation.  Tom was the 2015 Trim-Tex Drywall Artist of the year and we talk about that but we also get deep into the weeds talking about Trim-Tex specialty corner beads and how cool they are, or were...  Tom also has done Fresco Harmony for a long time so we talk a lot about his experience with the product and he helped get Fresco Harmony into Outwest Drywall Supply in Grand Junction and their other locations in Colorado.  We also discuss his meager beginnings working with his brother-in-law and how he may have hooked up with the boss' daughter.  Tom is a great guy and I know you're going to enjoy this episode, the 106th episode of The Drywall Podcast.

On this episode of The Drywall Podcast we take a look at the "not so fun" side of drywall and dive into profit margins and numbers.  Doug has not only built an amazing business in the residential sector but he's also conquered the commercial side.  His approach just might inspire you to dig a little deeper in your own business too.  Doug is a systems person and by creating specific systems for running a successful business, he's put together a step by step program for you to achieve the same results.  It's called the Drywall CEO Academy and it's now available for you to check out.  Just message him on instagram for more information.  @realdougmckenzie

I'm excited about this one.  Kaila and Allison are the quintessential influencers but it wasn't always that way.  It wasn't until Allison saw a video by JWOL that she got inspired to begin making videos on TikTok and that vision turned into a 170K following on Instagram.  Being influential is just the tip of the iceberg for these young and ambitious women in the trade.  They continue to innovate and grow with brands and new technologies that make their business strong.  I was blown away by these two and I hope you will be too on this, the 104th episode of The Drywall Podcast.
